The fourth annual New Era Pinstripe Bowl pitted the Notre Dame Fighting Irish against the Rutgers Scarlet Knights. After a week of festivities in New York City, the event was capped by an exciting 29-16 win by the Irish.
Notre Dame senior captain, left tackle Zack Martin, was named the 2013 game's Most Valuable Player after anchoring an Irish unit that churned out 175 rushing yards. Martin joins a prestigious list of players who have earned the David C. Koch trophy.
A youth clinic at Yankee Stadium, a "Build-A-Bear" workshop for children and a visit to the Memorial Sloan-Kettering Pediatric Cancer Center were all part of a busy week of giving back for the partcipants of the 2013 New Era Pinstripe Bowl.
Part of the allure of the New Era Pinstripe Bowl is its residence in New York City. Players from both teams got the opportunity to take in the sites, from a visit to the New York Stock exchange, to a special view from atop the Rock Observation Deck.
The two teams were treated to a banquet at Yankee Stadium, in which the players enjoyed a special tour and a visit from Miss New Jersey. A live band then entertained the crowd to help kick off a busy week at the 2013 New Era Pinstripe Bowl.
