The sports world is fueled by competition and drive, and when athletes put those skills to the test in the name of charity, everybody wins.
On May 20, myriad celebrity guests converged at Forsgate Country Club in Monroe Township, New Jersey, for the fourth annual New York Yankees/New Era Pinstripe Bowl Charity Golf Tournament. Net proceeds from the event, hosted by the New York Yankees Foundation, went to the Memorial Sloan Kettering Pediatric Cancer Center, the Boomer Esiason Foundation and Tic Top Stop, an organization dedicated to improving the lives of people with Tourette Syndrome.
"Our prior three golf tournaments raised in excess of a quarter million dollars for the charities we support," said Lonn Trost, Yankees chief operating officer and general counsel. "This is a win-win situation for the charities and for all those who participated."
Former athletes -- including several ex-Yankees -- were joined by executives, coaches, radio personalities and others for a round of golf that had a far-reaching impact. Check out some of the highlights on the pages that follow.
